Cusco’s farmers to export 100 tons of kiwicha in 2008

Lima, Feb. 07 (ANDINA).- Two hundred fifty farmers of the town of San Salvador, Cusco, will export 100 tons of kiwicha grains during 2008 as a result of the negotiations between Sierra Exportadora and sector-related companies.

It is also expected that these Cusco-grown kiwicha grains can be exported to other international markets based on a substantial increase in its offer and better technical advising to ensure a top quality product.

Additional information

Kiwicha is an Andean product like , chuño, quinua, moraya, cochayuyo, ají, maca, coca, uchu, olluco, oca, etc. that are being used in Novoandina cuisine.
