Peru aims to double avocado exports this year
Lima, Mar. 14 (ANDINA).- Peru aims to double avocado exports from 5,000 tons last year to 10.000 tons in 2008, based on the steady domestic market, said Gastón Benza Pflucker, president of Sierra Exportadora, a government's program which aims to help farmers from Peru's highlands.
"Peru exports high-quality avocados to European countries and the United States, we have also planned to promote every fruit exported through Sierra Exportadora program", he underlined.
